If you are thinking of getting some produced there has never been a better, cheaper and more creative time to get them. In the past most printed t shirts were produced by screen printing. This gives a lovely high quality result, but the process has limitations with its ability to handle complex designs and has expensive setup charges, that makes is prohibitive to order less than fifty copies of any one design.

There are various ways to get you t-shirt printed. The best method to use varies with the type of usage the t-shirt will have. If you want printed t-shirts for use in your business as workwear, then you will need a decoration process that can stand a lot of washing with out fade or crazing. Embroidery is just about as long lasting as you can get, but has the disadvantage of being a little rough against the skin when used for a t-shirt. Transfer printing is second only to embroidery for longevity and give lovely bright colours. Screen printing is very similar in its characteristics to Transfer printing but has setup charges, which means it is more suitable for large orders.

If your end purpose is something short lived like a stag or hen night, you should definitely consider DTG. DTG does not have the durability of the methods mentioned in the previous paragraph because it will fade a little if you wash it regularly at higher temperatures. The advantage of DTG is the flexibility in coping with complex design. You can more or less design the artwork without too much concern as to whether the process can cope with it and subsequently produce a reasonable representation onto the t-shirt.
